On October 26, 2008, during the Cultural Sunday "No Label" Born Digital had its premiere to the general public. More than 2500 interested people who spent a day visiting the Multimedia Lounge at the Winkel van Sinkel and got to know many manifestations of digital art and performances.

This successful pilot inspired us to do more new media events in Utrecht. In 2009 Born Digital produced succesfully the follow up event: Utrecht meets Berlin on different locations in Utrecht with several artists from Berlin and in assignment of th Treaty of Utrecht produced DJ op de Dom.

Now Born Digital is developing in cooperation with local artists and organizations an annual, international new media event in the city of Utrecht, FREEMOTE (first edition october 2010).
The event rhymes well with the ambition of the city of Utrecht, a city of knowledge & culture. It provides opportunities for students and graduates to present themselves and an international network of artists and developers will be invited to come down to share knowledge and new perspectives. FREEMOTE it is!
