Freemote is a wrap!

Born Digital presented ‘Freemote’ october '10, a versatile program in the fields of electronic arts and new media, demonstrating video mapping, audiovisual performances, installations, motion graphics & more. In October’s concluding weekend new media enthusiasts were offered a fine blend of music, visuals and other new media derivatives in and around Het Utrechts Archief.

A multitude of Dutch and European electronic artists were invited to showcase their work. In effect, the building’s full architecture was used as a canvas for projections, both the interior and exterior of the building. The Freemote interactive exhibition, screenings and video mapping projections on Saturday and Sunday afternoon thanks to our sponsors were accessed freely. A sequence of performing dj’s, vj’s and live audiovisual artist were scheduled Saturday evening for the ‘No Label Museum Club night’. On Sunday afternoon visitors could chill-out during the Visual Music Matinee, where classical music met modern electronic music and enchanting audio visualization. During the Visual Music Matinee, the Freemote exhibition and screenings were open. Friday night the public event was launched with a pre-party in de Vechtclub.

Born Digital and collaborating artists transformed Het Utrechts Archief into a home of the digital encounter. In adding a multimedia dimension to this historic building, a hinge arises between future and past..
